DESCRIPTION |
The project aims to attract well qualified GPs to NW London by offering opportunities to combine general practice with academic teaching at Imperial College. It attracts future teaching academics by offering a supported introduction to teaching. The project will expand capacity for teaching undergraduate medical students in GP practices in NW London. |

PRIORITY |
This important project meets a number of stakeholder priorities. It will expand teaching capacity in primary care and contribute to the wider improvement of capacity to deliver services outside hospital in line with the government's white paper and local development plans. |

WHERE ARE WE? |
4 GP Teaching Fellows appointed in Sept-October 2005 in five practices in Brent, Harrow and Ealing;
1 Paediatric Teaching Fellow apppointed in April 2005 to provide training and continuing professional development for professional staff across NW London;
Approximately 10 training sessions carried out Sept-Dec 2005.
